Lets face it, the nearer you are to the tournament date, the more anxiety. What is the draw gonna be? How will the team perfrom? which teams are here? Nonetheless, nothing can be done till the managers meeting. So meanwhile, just relax !
The morning light training at the field was pretty short and sharp. Running, throwing, fielding and batting....all seems so naturally...to the point that I would assume they were born to play. On the hind side, so are some of the bad habits and mechanics. The purpose is to let players get used to the competition ground, and playing in cooler, dryer condition. I seem to be panting harder after doing the sprint and warm up (need to condition for my game later on)....could it be the higher ground? could it be the weather? could it be....I am just getting old! It is good to be early though, we got the whole field to ourselves. It's good to see other friendly faces from other Singapore Teams, O'Boyz, HCI. Just like the good old days.
The buffet Spread at the hotel was pretty sumptuous. Been trying to tell myself not to over eat, failed. The boys tend to avoid the local delicacies and go for the "sub-to-my-standard" sushi. The noodle soup was great!
The ride up Doi Suthep provided more excitement than Doi Suthep itself. The Highlight should be the queue for the local ice tea though.
While the boys were having their time shopping at the Central Kad Suan Kaew later, I was killing my time chit-chating with coach Jerry and O'boyz manager at the managers meeting. We all agree, time in Thailand is made of rubber. But come to think about it, are we moving too fast here in Singapore.
The game schdule was pretty well spread. Only 1 game tomorrow for Senior Team. Action just get closer. But the beauty after all this years, I have the seniors to share my thoughts and discuss our cause of acton for the teams. Hate to use this " I (no longer) walk alone" ;-)
Can't wiat for the action. can't wait to take stock of how we are coping so far. Are we ready for 2009?....akan datang.
